COURSES / STAGE
The mission of Apnea Academy ‘s courses is to provide the necessary support to all who are interested in discovering the wonderful world of free diving.
Our main goal is to bring the aquatic environment to all those who wish to help them cope in this environment.
- STATIC MODE APNEA (STA)
- DYNAMIC MODE APNEA (DYN)
- DYNAMICS MODE finless (DNF)
- FREE APNEA MODE OR FREE IMMERSION (FI)
- MODALITY constant weight (CW)
- CONSTANT WEIGHT WITHOUT FINS MODE (CNF)
- MODE VARIABLE WEIGHT (VW)
- NO LIMITS MODE (NL)
Static apnea is to measure the time that the participant can stay underwater for having breathed normal air.
In this category the maximum distance that can be traveled under water is measured. The test is performed with two fins or monofin, the latter the most widely used in recent years, thanks to advances in techniques and management control, allowing the freediver more progress with less energy expenditure being.
DYNAMIC MODE finless
This form of great difficulty, is performed as above, but as the name suggests the freediver only advances through coordinated arm and leg movements. It requires a lot of preparation and technique.
APNEA FREE OR FREE DIVE
consists of making the descent without fins propelling by a rope to descend and ascend. Nor is a well known method.
is to achieve the maximum possible depth with single motor support fins and a fixed ballast that is, you must come up with the same weight with which the dive was started. Because of this, athletes often use very little ballast, which greatly hinders the descent, especially during the first few meters. In this category we must bear in mind the depth and its many ramifications, reflecting a large increase in difficulty. Neoprene used suits have great buoyancy, since this material is basically rubber sealed air cells. The increased pressure is very fast (10 meters goes from 1 to 2 atmospheres and from there 1 more atmosphere for every 10 meters), so at a certain depth the air in the cells is compressed, losing its positive buoyancy as well as it happens with air and other gases containing the lungs and other internal cavities. In short, during the first twenty meters a huge amount of air is expended to bring down as well as very costly climb to reach an acceptable buoyancy. For this and other reasons, it is considered to constant weight and the most competitive mode difficult. Immersion is usually performed following the path of a taut wire on the end is a small metal plate indicating the depth.
MODE CONSTANT WEIGHT WITHOUT FINS.
Undoubtedly the most difficult and technical of all forms practiced in apnea.
Incredible depths are reached and freediver only used to lower and raise your arms and legs, must have a perfect coordination between movements and lower compensation, part high concentration yya up and down in order to achieve its brands.
But few practice it is the most elegant and difficult.
In this mode is allowed to descend with a different weight to the rise. You can leave deep a total of thirty kilos, for a more rapid decline and rise to easier, but always with only the help of fins surface. Here is particularly important adaptation to the environment and depth, which is the main problem to beat.
This is undoubtedly the most spectacular, dangerous and controversial modalities. The name itself explains the rules to follow: no limits, anything goes as long to reach the maximum depth in a single breath normal air. The freediver can lower the amount of weight you want and upload free from such weight. In addition inflatable balloons that rise at high speed are permitted. The ballast usually take the form of a heavy metal bar in which athletes can be fixed easily and down a cable that reaches great depths. Simply remove the brake to start the descent, and once down, infllan some big balloons rising rapidly firing air with profundistas clinging to them. The speed limit on the ascent and descent is marked only by the very physiology of freediving, and decompression needs to be done every few meters to not break the eardrums. This method, due to the great depths where working, involves large doses of relaxation and good compensation technique.
Athletes are being thoroughly studied by specialists, as their adaptation to the aquatic environment is something new for them, and it is theoretically impossible to reach such depths. Scientists from Cuba, the Soviet Union and America as well as the University of Buffalo study them, checking with surprise that many features outweigh some marine mammals.
Apnea present in Spain
since 1998 in the Canary Paco González, joins several friends and create the foundation AIDA Spain, Spanish territory begins in a new era.
The following year Paco González, is formed as the first instructor and gives the first course of Apnea in pool of Miraflores in the city of Santa Cruz de La Palma in the Canary Islands course in which 28 people come from all over Spain. After this, since 98 until 2003 will be this instructor that for almost all the provinces of Spain develops all the knowledge his teacher, Umberto Pellizari, had taught him on the island of Sardinia, with whom he shared more than forming two months, learning mental and physical techniques in the sea and pool.
Currently in Spain there are numerous monitors Apnea Academy over 50, which have been formed by Umberto Pellizari and Central Apnea Academy for all Western Europe is mounted in the best place in Europe to enjoy the sea, as in Costa Adeje and particularly La Caleta in Tenerife, meeting place for all friends.
They operate in the rest of the national territory other associations which all collaborate together, and try to impress upon people the values the body and the aquatic environment can be felt through breathing techniques and relaxation far more important than physical training.
